We need rabbit fosters! We have quite a few rabbits waiting for their spay and neuter surgeries, and they'd certainly appreciate a comfy place to hang out while they wait - preferably a place with fewer barking dogs than our shelter. 😫 We'll provide everything you need to foster! All our rabbits live indoors and will need to be kept indoors in foster; we will provide x-pens for their housing. Even if you've never fostered a bunny before, we can teach you, and we know you'll find it super rewarding! 💘If you can help us out and house a bunny for a couple weeks (or a little less, or a little more), we'd love to chat with you. Send us an email at foster@marinhumane.org to learn more or get started!#fostering #rabbitfoster #rabbits #bunnies

Some barking good news! 📣 We've teamed up with the amazing @wendygoldstudios and all proceeds from her stunning dog and cat collection will go back to the shelter animals.Even more purr-fect? For the first three purchases from the collection, Wendy Gold will hand-customize the artwork to include your own pet, adding your dog or cat directly into the design! 🐱🐶These unique maps and globes are works of art and the fact that they support the shelter is the cherry on top. 🍒 Head to wendygold.com to shop the collection and read more about the partnership!#dogmap #catmap #custommap

Our shelter is closed today in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. We'll be sharing our weekly adoption slideshow tomorrow. But today, we'd like to share our shelter's land acknowledgment:Marin Humane recognizes that the main campus of Marin Humane resides on unceded Coast Miwok land, and that the Hopalong Foster Program office resides on unceded Muwekma Ohlone land. We acknowledge the profound suffering caused by the theft and colonization of this land and the ongoing systemic harm to Coast Miwok and Ohlone cultures, and all Indigenous cultures of what we now call North America. We honor the Coast Miwok and the Muwekma Ohlone as the ancestral and contemporary stewards of these lands and wildlife.#indigenouspeoplesday

It's Foster Friday and we need a foster for Behemoth!Don’t let the big name fool you; this handsome 3-year-old American Bulldog mix is a 72-pound gentle giant with the most charming underbite.Right now, the shelter hustle and bustle is a bit too overwhelming for him, and what Behemoth needs most is a peaceful spot to catch his breath and unwind. He’s dreaming of a calm, adults-only home where he can just kick back, have his personal space respected, and relax with dog-savvy humans who understand his body language.Behemoth is a good boy on leash, doesn't pull, and prefers polite distance over drama with other dogs. He loves his training sessions and thrives when learning new things. We think he’d do fine sharing his space with a calm, respectful dog friend (no bouncy puppies, please, since he prefers chill vibes!). We’re not sure about cats just yet.If you have a quiet home and a spot on the couch for this sweet boy to decompress, Behemoth would love to meet you!Interested in fostering or learning more? Send a note to our foster team at foster@marinhumane.org.

Meet Manuel, an adorable bundle of curiosity with a twitchy little nose and a whole lot of love to give. Whether he's perfecting his midday loaf on a soft rug, showing off celebratory zoomies at snack time, or gently nudging your hand for forehead rubs, this sweet boy brings instant calm and joy to any room. He's looking for an indoor home where he can stretch his legs, crunch on fresh greens, and be the devoted, long-eared companion you didn't know you were missing. If you have a cozy corner and plenty of love (and hay!) to share, Manuel is ready to hop straight into your heart. Call us at 415-506-6225 or visit our shelter to meet him!#adoptme #adoptdontshop #rabbit #bunny
