Above & Beyond

We’re inspired by the young animal lovers in our community!

Whether it’s donating the proceeds from a lemonade stand, bake sale, or other student organized fundraiser, we’re grateful to these young animal advocates and applaud their generosity on behalf of the animals. Take a look at who’s made valuable contributions to Marin Humane.

If you’re a student and would like to do a special project that benefits the shelter animals, please contact our Youth Programs Coordinator by email or call 415.506.6288. We can guide you to a project that will benefit the animals and if you need community service hours how your work translates into hours.

You can collect items from our Wish List, coordinate a pet food drive for our Pet Care Assistance program, or organize a fundraising event (bake sale, car wash, lemonade stand) and donate the proceeds to Marin Humane. Another idea is to ask that in lieu of gifts for your birthday or holiday, donations be made to the animals in your honor!

The Amazing Towel Hero

After a visit to her school from our Youth Program Coordinator, Elle was inspired to collect towels for the animals at Marin Humane. But that isn't even the best part. Not only did Elle collect towels to donate, but she also included hand-written and decorated love notes to each animal that will be receiving the towels. Thank you Elle for your thoughtfulness, compassion, and generosity!

Compassion in Action at Any Age!

These lovely ladies have a knitting club where they take the time to knit various items for non-profits. For Marin Humane they made some oh so cozy cat beds. Thank you to this wonderful group of friends for sharing their love of knitting with all the cats at Marin Humane and for demonstrating compassion in action at any age!

When Life Gives You Lemons…

Mila and her sister Noa came to visit the animals that they raised money for with their lemonade stand.  Mila was brainstorming after bouncing on the trampoline and decided that the hot weather called for a lemonade stand.  She and a neighborhood friend generously raised money for the animals at Marin Humane on a very warm day. Thanks, Mila and Noa for your thoughtfulness and generosity!
