Greetings Volunteers, We urgently need pet food donations! Our Pet Safety Net program provides free pet food to hundreds of pet guardians struggling to make ends meet. The demand has skyrocketed over the past few months, and our shelves are almost bare. Here's how you can help: Buy an e-gift card from Amazon, Target, or Safeway and email it to petfooddrive@marinhumane.org, so we can purchase food as needed. To keep your pets safe, keep them indoors in a secure and quiet area, away from windows and doors. Create a comforting environment with familiar toys and background noise, like a TV or fan, to help drown out the sounds. Greetings Volunteers, Did you know that we're in the midst of Rabbit Awareness Week?! This year, it takes place from June 24 to July 1. The week-long event was established to raise awareness about rabbits, sometimes considered ‘forgotten pets.’ It is an annual event aiming to educate rabbit owners on how to properly look after them. Greetings Volunteers, Marin Humane is closed today to honor the important holiday of Juneteenth. Shelter update: We currently have 337 animals in our collective care. 240 are at Marin Humane: 102 animals in foster and 138 animals in the shelter/Kitty Corner, including: 20 dogs, 13 puppies, 59 cats, 20 kittens, 3 rabbits, 10 guinea pigs, 5 reptiles, 4 birds, and 2 fowl. 97 animals are with Hopalong: 17 animals are in the Oakland office and 96 cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies are in foster or offsite adoption sites!
