Not every animal who comes to Marin Humane is found as a stray. Sometimes, animals are surrendered by their former owners due to a variety of reasons – perhaps a change in health, financial circumstances, or living situations. That was the case for Estrella, a sweet 4-year-old rabbit whose owner moved to a new home that did not allow pets.
When she arrived at Marin Humane in January, Estrella quickly won the hearts of our staff and volunteers with her easygoing nature. She was spayed in our veterinary clinic, and after receiving vaccines and a nail trim, she settled into our adoption housing to wait for her new forever home.
As luck would have it, Estrella did not wait long. She was adopted a month later by a bunny-savvy family who already had an 11-year-old rabbit, Oakley. Her family recently shared, “They have become a great pair. We feel so lucky and blessed that we found her through Marin Humane so easily…thank you again for bringing her into our lives!”
