Greetings Volunteers,

Hopefully, you’ve received Anne’s Retirement Party Invitation. And hopefully, you can join us as we raise a glass in honor of Anne’s 32 years at Marin Humane! The celebration will be on Friday, March 25th at 4:30pm. RSVP to me at calexander@marinhumane.org

Shelter update: We currently have 117 animals in our care: 45 animals in foster and 72 animals in the shelter/Kitty Corner. Our residents include: 23 dogs, 2 puppies, 26 cats, 6 rabbits, 8 guinea pigs, 1 rodent, 4 reptiles, and 2 fowl.

Adoptions update: Wow, what a week! We have a longer slideshow than usual because we had sooooo many adoptions, so enjoy all the love, from guinea pigs and kittens to dogs and roosters. Thank you to all the adopters for giving these deserving animals their second chance! Enjoy the long Adoption Report with all the details!

Tails of Marin: “The two requirements for safe and responsible off-leash activities are a reliable recall and active supervision of your dog. If you can’t manage both of those, your dog shouldn’t be off-leash. Full stop.” Read more in this week’s Tails of Marin, “Having your dog off leash comes with responsibilities.” If you’d like to improve your recall skills, consider a training class with one of our fabulous instructors!

Woofstock: Marin Humane’s 14th annual WOOFSTOCK music festival is on Sunday, May 22, 2022 on the great lawn at Marin Humane’s Novato campus. This event has the largest crowds of any of our special events with attendance around 800 people! Our animal-loving attendees – and their well-behaved canines – come back year after year for a fun-filled day of live music, vendors, kids’ zone, raffle, food trucks, wine and beer. Woofstock’s Vendor Village is one of the fun, interactive aspects of the event. If you have a business that you’d like to feature in our Vendor Village, please fill out the Woofstock 2022 Vendor Form, or to learn more contact Event Manager Molly Foley at mfoley@marinhumane.org.

Volunteer department news: Perhaps you noticed in the headline that Volunteer Services is now Volunteer Engagement! What’s in a name? Well, our goal is to work with you, the volunteers, to stay engaged with Marin Humane’s mission, and eager to keep volunteering at the shelter, Kitty Corner, or in the community. Your passion and service are inspiring — thank you!

Be well and stay warm on these breezy, brrrr days!

Candace (your new Volunteer Engagement Manager)
