Greetings Volunteers!

Jeesh, it’s been (too) hot this past week! I hope you’re staying hydrated and bringing a water bottle with you to your volunteer shift. At Marin Humane, there is a cool water fountain in the Whittell building lobby (and other places to refill your water bottle in the shelter). At Hopalong, water is available from the water filter machine in the kitchen upstairs.

Please note that even during the summer months, volunteers are required to comply with the volunteer dress code, including wearing your volunteer t-shirt, closed-toed shoes, and long pants. For further details on the dress code, here’s the Marin Humane + Hopalong Volunteer Handbook. Thanks for staying safe and for your compliance!

Adoptions update: Time for a little Wednesday love! Enjoy these heart-warming adoption photos from last week and let’s hear a round of applause for all the adopters! Here, too, is the Adoption Report for last week.

Hopalong happenings! We took a field trip to Lucasfilm’s San Francisco campus on Thursday, July 13th for a special kitten and puppy cuddling event! A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped set up, supervise, and break down this event! Thanks to this wonderful volunteer team (most are pictured here), Lucasfilm employees were able to join us out in the sunshine and enjoy the company of the kittens and puppies we brought with us. Everyone had a great time, and we made connections with lots of potential adopters, fosters, and volunteers too!

Tails of Marin: From obvious culprits like medication to lesser-known risks like lilies and xylitol, it’s important to keep potentially harmful items away from your pets! That’s the moral of today’s Tails of Marin, Remember To Keep Harmful Things Out Of Paw’s Reach.
