Adoption update: Hooray for Wednesday! Here’s the weekly adoption slideshow to celebrate the lucky animals who just found their forever homes! Congratulations to all the adopters! And here’s the Adoption Report for all of you who want all the details.
Hopalong happenings: We want to honor Kathryn Littlepage for being such a rock star Mobile Adoption Event Coordinator! Coordinating our adoption events can be hectic, but Kathryn handles them with poise, patience, and positivity. She has been volunteering for years but will be stepping down to focus on family priorities. Our Dog Program Manager Alex noted that Kathryn is particularly good at working with the public and treating everyone with kindness. Alex also wants to say, “Kathryn, you’ve been an amazing part of the Hopalong family – we will miss you!” Thank you for all of your support, Kathryn.
Tails of Marin: September is National Disaster Preparedness Month and a great reminder that preparing for an emergency is crucial. Having a plan and including your pets in it can significantly reduce stress and ensure the safety of everyone involved. Read further in this week’s Tails of Marin: “Don’t forget to include your pets in your emergency plan.”
Subaru promotion! Our friends at Marin Subaru are running a promotion: bring in a 16oz. (or larger) bag of pet food or two 12 oz. cans of pet food (or greater) and get $55 off your oil change. Each month, Subaru Marin staff bring the donated pet food to us in support of out Pet Safety Net pet pantry! Thank you Marin Subaru for supporting Marin Humane!
What is your cat saying? Cats are probably one of the most misunderstood of all domestic animals. The “What is my cat saying?” workshop is about learning to read cat body language. This free Zoom workshop, tomorrow September 11th at 7pm, is offered from the comfort of your couch so you can better understand what your cat is saying and how your body language affects your communication with your feline friends. This is an excellent session for anyone working with cats at the shelter, Kitty Corner, the Hopalong Foster office, or with your cats at home. Register here to get the Zoom link!
Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
Candace
