Greetings Volunteers!
That’s a wrap on Tails by Twilight 2023! What a magical night filled with fun, inspiration, and incredible generosity. A special shout out of gratitude to the more than 40 volunteers who helped us before the Big Night and during the event. We couldn’t have hosted such a fantastic event without our amazing volunteers! Here are a few photos of volunteers in action! (More photos below.)
Shelter update: We currently have 314 animals in our collective care. 220 are at Marin Humane: 99 animals in foster and 121 animals in the shelter/Kitty Corner, including: 14 dogs, 1 puppy, 49 cats, 35 kittens, and 22 small critters. 94 animals are with Hopalong!
Adoptions update: Wednesdays are just the best! Some extreeeeemely cute shots in this week’s adoption slideshow so we highly recommend giving it a watch. Thank you and congrats to all the adopters for choosing to adopt, not shop! And we have more cuteness where this came from … check them out here! And for the full scoop, here’s the Adoption Report.
Hopalong happenings! Now that the rush of summer vacation season has ended, who’s ready to sink their teeth into a good book? No Harley, we didn’t mean that literally! But we’re glad you’re having a good time at your foster home! And since kitten season hasn’t ended yet, if your lap is available, we’ve got more cuties just like him who could use a foster home now or in the near future! Interested, get more info here or contact Sam at our Oakland office (smcnaughton@marinhumane.org) or Suzanne at the Novato campus (sgollin@marinhumane.org).
VicNet update! If you enter your volunteer hours from home or on the mobile app through the VicNet portal, Volgistics will be retiring the current version of VicNet (the internet-based portal) this week. The new version looks a little different but functions just like the legacy version of VicNet. Your current login (your email) and password work with the new VicNet version. The VicNet link has been updated on the volunteer webpage; perhaps some of you have already seen the updated version. There are no scheduled changes to VicTouch, which most of you use on the Novato campus or Oakland office. If you have any questions about VicNet or VicTouch, please email me at calexander@marinhumane.org. And thank you for continuing to post your volunteers hours; it’s super helpful!
Tails of Marin: This month, Novato was recognized as a “Better City for Pets,” one of just seven Bay Area cities that’ve been designated as the best for people who live, play and work with their pets. This recognition lays out next steps for Novato to be an even more pet-inclusive city and a model for all of Marin. Read on for more information on What it means to be A Better City for Pets.
Vote for Marin Humane! We’d be so honored if you voted for Marin Humane in the People’s Choice 2023 Wagsie Awards! The Wagsies, sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement, are a celebration of the incredible work shelters do for pets and our communities. Our Pet Safety Net video is in the running! Vote here. And here’s a little secret … you can vote for Marin Humane’s video every day!
Get a dog license, get 20% at Pet food Express! Did you know that a license tag is one of the first things we look for when a stray dog comes to the shelter? If your pup ever goes missing, a license is the quickest way for us to reunite you. In honor of Disaster Preparedness Month, we’re sending everyone who buys or renews a dog license in Marin this September a 20% off coupon from our friends at Pet Food Express (while supplies last). And a portion of each purchase made with the coupon will be donated back to our shelter! Check out all your licensing options here.
Happy fall!
