Every second chance begins with donor support.
Credo’s story is no exception. Part of an unwanted litter, Credo and her sister came to our shelter in Novato when their previous owner could not find homes for them. Under-socialized and withdrawn, the puppies preferred to hide under their beds in their kennel rather than be seen by shelter staff or volunteers.
We knew these puppies needed a quiet environment to come out of their shells, so they spent time in loving foster homes. At first, they continued to hide from their foster families. However, they gradually warmed up, accepting pets and seeking attention. Within two weeks, Credo’s foster family reported, “She is such a good puppy. She has totally come out of her shyness with us.”
Once Credo and her sister were ready for adoption, they did not have to wait long. Credo’s sister was adopted by one of their foster families, who had fallen in love. A family from the Peninsula saw Credo’s photo on our website and came up to meet her. Credo’s sweet disposition won their hearts, and both pups are now happy and safe in their new homes.
Transforming lives takes a village. Credo’s village included a loving foster home, our committed shelter team, and a generous sponsorship from our friends at Credo (who chose this lucky pup as their namesake).
