Pet food drive 2025

Update Nov 7, 2025: While it appears that SNAP benefits have been restored for now, the shutdown continues and the need in our community remains. Your support means we can continue providing pet food to families in need — and be ready to respond when help is needed most.

***

Families should never have to choose between feeding themselves or their pets. To support our community members who have lost their SNAP benefits, we’re offering free pet food to anyone struggling to make ends meet. We’re also making sure local food pantries are stocked with pet food.

The government shutdown has left many folks scrambling to stretch already-meager budgets. About 15,500 people in Marin County won’t receive their food stamps on November 1, creating even greater financial insecurity for our neighbors.

Help us fill our pet food pantry to meet the rising need! Together, we can ensure no Marin pets go hungry.

There are three easy ways to help:

➡️ Buy an e-gift card from Amazon, Target, or Safeway and email it to petfooddrive@marinhumane.org. We can then buy the needed food.

➡️ Buy an item (or two!) from our Chewy wish list or Amazon wish list and it’ll be delivered directly to us.

➡️ Drop off pet food donations in the donation bin at our campus in Novato.

You can also support the Pet Safety Net with a monetary donation or drop off gift cards (we love Pet Food Express and Woodlands Pet Food). Our mailing address is:

Pet Food Drive
171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd, Novato, CA 94949

If you need help keeping your pets fed, please contact our Pet Safety Net program at psn@marinhumane.org or 415-506-6255. Just tell us you’ve been impacted by the government shutdown and we’ll make sure your beloved animals don’t go hungry!
