There’s always a lot of activity at Marin Humane so we wanted to share a few brief items we hope are of interest to you!

Marin Humane recently signed up for the scrip program at Nugget Market. We will receive between 1-4% of revenues based on total monthly purchases by shoppers who have registered and chosen Marin Humane as their preferred charity. It takes less than 3 minutes to register – easy peasy! Once registered, you present your Nugget card to the cashier before they ring-up your purchases and that’s it. If you would like to participate, please stop by the Volunteer Services office for your membership card.

Also, Sutter Care at Home will be at Marin Humane on Tuesday September 25 from 12pm to 2:00pm in the Conference Room. We are offering one flu shot clinic this year. The cost for volunteers is $32 (however, Medicare Part B is accepted). While the clinic is on a drop in basis, if you’re interested in receiving a flu shot, please RSVP to Candace so that enough vaccinations will be on hand.

KOFY TV Doggie Casting Call: Get your pooch on TV! Think your dog has untapped “star” qualities? Now’s your chance! Simply stop by the South Country Chrysler Jeep Ram Fiat dealership in Corte Madera on Saturday, October 6, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, for your free dog’s close-up! All dogs will be featured on KOFY TV’s “KOFY Breaks.”

Did you know that if you work for Southwest Airlines and volunteer at Marin Humane, you might be eligible for their Tickets for Time Program? From the Southwest Airlines website: “For every 40 hours, one or more of our Employees volunteers for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or school, the benefiting organization is eligible to receive one complimentary, roundtrip ticket on Southwest Airlines for fundraising or transportation needs. Through the Tickets for Time program, a charitable organization can receive up to six tickets in a calendar year. Employees must register their volunteer events and log their hours through Southwest Airlines intranet site.” If you are a Southwest employee, let’s talk about how to get some tickets for our fundraising events!
