Urgent need for some very special fosters!

Several of our kitties (cats and kittens) have ringworm and our hardworking staff could sure use a hand. We’re looking for comfy, loving foster homes for the duration of their treatment.

Ringworm (which has nothing to do with worms) sounds a lot scarier than it is, we promise! Ringworm is a fungus that’s fairly simple to treat. The kitties need daily oral medication and a special bath every few days for about 4-6 weeks. It can be passed to humans and other animals, but if you take a few extra precautions, like wearing gloves and more frequent cleaning, the risk is minimal.

Six weeks is a long time for a pet to wait around in a shelter, so we’d love for some fosters to help us out! We’ll provide you with everything you need and give you detailed treatment instructions. If you’re interested in learning more about this special foster opportunity, please email Suzanne at sgollin@marinhumane.org.
