High Five to the 95 Woofstock Volunteers! This year’s Woofstock volunteers were fantastic! From distributing postcards to spread the word about the event, to Saturday & Sunday morning set-up, to selling cash cards, sodas, beer & food, to enticing guests to play the Dog Collar Wine Toss Game, to ensuring all the dogs got along, to working the raffle, to staying to the last song was played to help with breakdown & clean-up, and everything in between — our Woofstock volunteers R-O-C-K! Three “woofs” to all of the Woofstock volunteers for making this years event the best ever!

High Five to the Bay Area Pet Fair Volunteers! We had another successful Bay Area Pet Fair weekend (Sept. 15-16). 24 animals found WONDERFUL homes – puppies, dogs, kittens, rats, guinea pigs and a hamster! It ‘takes a village’ and a LOT of teamwork to participate in these events. But, the rewards are obvious and you can’t help but ‘feel good’ at the end of the day. A HUGE thank you to the following volunteers. We could not have had such a successful Pet Fair without you. You are SUPERSTARS:

* Loading up the animals at the shelter: Jennifer Law, Lindsay Moon, Gretchen Likander, Heather Bowker, and Gayle Gaston.

* DPP’s: LeRoy Johnson, Audrey Pulis, and Lisa Tarantino

* Adoption Counselors: Carole Mason (both days), Joanie Corbett, and Glenn Normandin

Thank you fabulous BAPF volunteers!

High Five to Georgia Couderc! Where would we be without this SUPERSTAR clinic volunteer?? Let’s NOT go there! Georgia always steps up to help wherever she can, and she did it again this week in the clinic while one of our RVTs was out. With Georgia’s help, we were able to keep up with our busy surgery schedule and keep the clinic running smoothly. High Five to Georgia for all her amazing help, this week and every week!

High Five to Cathy Jakubiec & John Costello! A special High Five to Cathy and John for their long-term fostering of several shelter dogs, Ginger & Henrietta.

Here’s an update from Cathy: “We were been blessed to foster Ginger for a month & thrilled we got to meet Ginger’s new dad. He has kept in touch & yesterday sent this picture of Ginger. She is stunning, gorgeous and looking healthy.  New dad says she is a Movie Star and well isn’t she?

Our current foster doggy is Henrietta. Today we decided to take the beautiful & magnetic Henrietta out for an adventure. We stopped at the Home Consignment store in Corte Madera & asked if they were okay with dogs. YES! of course & in walks Henrietta.  Within 2 minutes – not kidding — she had the whole staff & clients swooning for her. We did have her draped in a “adopt me” vest that got oohs & ahs and ‘I wish I could adopt her’ comments from the crowd.  At one point the manager wanted to keep her as the store greeter.

After that , off we went to the Corte Madera Town Center. While waiting for our lunch with Henrietta, a fellow comes over & says, ‘I love Pitties, just lost mine a week ago.  I work at Blink (a portrait studio) and would be happy to take some complimentary pics of Henrietta.’ Here’s one from her photo shoot. A glam girl for sure!”

Thank you, Cathy & John, for all the love and adventures you give these sweet shelter dogs!
