Dog Palaces is a delightful picture book by Brian Coleman with photographs by Dan Mayers.
Pet stores offer us a multitude of beds and kennels for our canine best buddies and most of the beds work pretty well – big ones, small ones, furry ones, soft ones, ones with built-in pillows, even rubbery ones that can be filled with air from a bicycle pump.  Some of our pets – quite a few in fact, according to the experts – don’t actually need their own beds because they share ours.  Maybe the reality is they allow us to share our beds with them.
The point is we make sure our dogs are snug, comfortable and warm as they snore through the night. But few of our much-loved pooches – as pampered as they may be – can boast that their sleeping quarters match the A-List beds and kennels depicted in this highly entertaining – and inspiring – book by author Brian Coleman and photographer Dan Mayers.
Inspiring  because maybe we can all come up with our own ideas to create special “home-from-home” designs for our own guys.  So, we thought that our blog this time would show you some of the great designer beds and kennels that Brian and Dan found for us.
Their book is called “Dog Palaces.”  It is published by Gibbs Smith and it has lots of other great pictures in addition to the few we show you here.  So get the tools out of the shed and the sewing machine from the cupboard and see if you can outdo these palaces!
